Feed in Tariff (FIT) Latest

 

Regular changes to the Feed in Tariff have created some confusion over the current rate and requirements. The reductions in rate have been made in response to falling costs, allowing customers to still enjoy significant rates of return. In summary of the changes, the following points should be noted;

 

  • Reductions to FIT rates do not affect existing installations - If you install before each deadline, then your rate will not be reduced, last for 25 years and will rise with inflation.
  • Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are now required - Household must meet the Band D rating to qualify for the higher rate FIT. This is to ensure the property does not counteract the benefits of green electricity production by wasting energy through inefficiency i.e. no insulation. Payback Energy Ltd have a number of EPC assessors we are happy to recommend across the Wirral, Merseyside and North Wales.
  • Installations made before 1st July 2012 - will qualify for a FIT rate of 21p with an EPC rating of D
